よくあるご質問
Can you describe the atmosphere in your lab.?
Our lab has a harmonious atmosphere.
Sometimes we focus intensely on work, and other times, we all enjoy tea together.
The students' room is adjacent to the faculty room, fostering easy communication.
Please see the following photo for a glimpse of our lab environment.
What are the career paths of graduates?
Although we have had few graduates so far, they have gone on to work in companies such as automobile companies and machine tool manufacturers.
Can you explain the schedule after joining the lab?
【B3】Students will acquire fundamental theories and techniques that form the basis of research through seminars, programming, simulations, and experimental tasks in robotics and control engineering. Additionally, those who are interested can participate in research projects within our laboratory.
【B4】Students will work on their individual research topics. Through weekly 1-on-1 discussions with faculty, regular journal clubs, and research progress meetings, students will delve deeper into their research and practice their presentation skills.
【Graduate Students】In addition to the events for undergraduates, graduate students will present their research at joint research group meetings held once every six months. They will also prepare for conference presentations and submissions to academic journals.
Is there a core time?
No, we do not have a core time.
How are research themes decided?
Research themes are determined through one-on-one discussions with faculty, from a choice of faculty-suggested themes, student-proposed themes, or project-derived themes. We explore together to find a research topic that truly engages you..
Is there any collaboration with external organizations?
Our faculty are involved in multiple joint research projects, so if you're interested in a theme, please participate. We have also held research exchange meetings with electrical and robot manufacturers, Keio University, and the Italian Institute of Technology.
Is it recommended to pursue graduate studies?
We recommend it, though it's not mandatory. Due to the nature of our lab's themes, acquiring fundamental skills and maturing in research takes time. To stand shoulder to shoulder with researchers worldwide and achieve results, considerable effort is necessary. We recommend staying through graduate school to fully leverage the advantages of being a science and engineering student.
Can I enroll to this laboratory as part of a master’s or doctoral program?
Yes, you can if you pass the entrance examination of the graduate school. However, please make sure to visit our laboratory before taking the exam.
Are international students allowed to join this lab?
Yes, you can if you pass the entrance examination of the graduate school. However, the ability to speak Japanese or English is preferred.
We are currently involved in several joint research projects. If we can be of any assistance, please contact us through our inquiry form.
